“It’s something we’ll look at as we go into 2014 as we look at distribution.” “We’re not trying to make a smartwatch, per se, but the smartest running watch,” Paul Gaudio, head of Adidas Interactive, said at the GigaOm Mobilize conference, according to SlashGear. The watch has movement sensors that supervise training, as well as Wi-Fi and a touch-capable screen. Whereas those two are, in a sense, extensions of your smartphone, the device that Adidas is preparing is a fitness tracker with some extra perks. Well, at least it will look like a smartwatch, even though its main purpose will be different from those of, say, Sony Smartwatch 2 and Samsung Galaxy Gear. Nevertheless, Adidas has announced, or at least has been found to be preparing, a Smartwatch. Granted, Adidas doesn't limit itself to just clothes and footwear, but it's also not exactly a maker of consumer electronics. Not surprising, when even sports clothing and footwear makers launch such things.

Nowadays, smartwatch announcements seem to happen every other week, and sometimes several times a week.
